What is Life Value

Why do we value our lives more? Is it because the pandemic makes our mortality more real? It is not like there is suddenly a market for a bag of bones... or that the going rate for a 'tola' (10gms) of ashes suddenly seems lucrative. Is it that you have upskilled so much and raised your net worth to stratospheric levels? In that case how do you compare with Bezos / Buffet / Ambani for that matter? Or is it simply in contrast to the fact that it "seems" important to be alive.

In the grand scheme of the Universe - do you really know your worth?

And what is it worth?

So while we may feel glorious that we are 'stardust' at the end of the day... we are just 'dust'.

It is really difficult to truly KNOW about the origins of the universe and to surmise about the origin of life... but it is a fantastic face-off in deed, bordering on the hilarious if it was not so tragic. Such an irony that the apex of species - Homo sapiens himself - the alpha predator is fighting for survival against the most basic of life forms... so basic that it barely qualifies as life... a Virus. The creature made in the very image of God himself now brought to its knees by that insignificant strands of nucleic acid. What an upstart! Hardly holding the qualifications of an organism... not even sophisticated enough to be a unicellular one... And here we are... millions of cells to a man. Not to mention years of agricultural, industrial and technological domination of this planet. And yet we cower in our homes today. Afraid.

That is our evolution.

Fun thought. Perhaps we started out as a virus? We continually evolved to annihilate higher more complex life forms (dinosaurs anyone?) and our strains modified subsequent iterations till we came to the present form? Darwin was correct in his surmise then and the reason as a species we are so exploitative of all other life. It is hard wired in our DNA!
