Reality vs Realisation

The threat is invisible but make no mistake - very real. As the world has found out. The days have turned to weeks. And weeks in to months. Where does one turn in times of uncertainty? Have people become more spiritual? Has having all this time on hand made us question ourselves and our lives more? Have we experienced any epiphany about our flagrantly consumerist lifestyles? Why do we pray? Do you believe in a ‘god’? Any higher power for that matter... is prayer a conversation with your self or a dialogue with that unknown entity? Do you resign yourself to fate / destiny? Are you a believer in ‘karma’ or that this is punishment / day of judgement in the here and now? Does this help come to grips with what lies beyond our control? How do we overcome our shortcomings? Can we truly make up for it by going to places of worship to absolve our sins? is the virus a ‘sign’ from god? Has it come as a ‘punishment’ or serve as a ‘reminder’ for us to change our ways? If you are truly repentant and indeed have become more spiritual... will this turn the crisis around?

The “Corona” morphology is sun-like in appearance. I hope the irony is not lost on our race, for all life depends on Helios! Plants thrive on the abundant solar energy; the heat and warmth fueling photosynthesis and hence the lowest level of food for almost all animal life and with an essential by product created - Oxygen! Neither of which we can do without.

The irony cuts deeper still with a sharp unforgiving edge since the virus goes for the lungs. It hampers our ability to breathe and denies us life. We take a lot for granted, more so the very act of breathing. We can go without food for days and water for hours. But breathe we must!

How much have you taken for granted? The realization must start sometime. Where we are today seems like a good place and the “now” seems like a good time to start.
